Sorry for the lack of updates! I'M BACK MUAHAAHAHAH

Announcements

1) Worship Roster

The worship roster will still be subject to changes because of our MANYMANY church events and things going on...I will post the firm roster schedule up here as soon as things are confirmed:)


Certain guidelines for worship

1) Should last about 20-30 minutes long

2) About 2-3 songs

3) Be PRAYERFUL when preparing for worship(before) and during the worship itself

4) Try to coordinate well with your buddies! Try to call each other up, or if you want to, meet up to practice:) Good communication is important so your worship can go through smoothly:) Also, delegate each other with sufficient roles eg: Lyrics IC, Songs preparation IC...etc. Everyone should put in equal share of effort ya:)

5) Try to make sure that everyone has an equal chance of leading:) If anything goes wrong, don't be afraid to take the initiative and make the first move! We're all learning and everybody makes mistakes once in a while:) Even me! So be SPONTANEOUS!:D

6) Any questions, just msg YongJin or me:) Try to remember how you've watched COOS worship leaders lead and draw inspiration from them:) It helps:)




2) Cell outreach

Our cell outreach is tentatively on 16th Feb(Sat), on the same day as Youth Evangelistic Service(YES). This is because we need to coordinate with YES. As you can see from the title 'Cell outreach', it means we have to reach out to our non-Christian friends, giving us a chance to bring them to YES and share the gospel with them:)

I hope you guys are thinking about who to bring...I know you're probably anxious about what the person is going to think or say...

Don't worry even I feel like that too. I have friends who are outright anti Christian but that doesn't mean that we should give up! Don't be afraid of rejection:) If they do reject you, it's still ok! Just let the person know that you still love them as a friend and continue to pray for them:) You'll never know when they might eventually come to Christ:)

Please let me know if you're bringing someone along ya:)

Announcements for those taking Baptism Class


Baptism Membership Class(BMC) is starting this Sunday. Some dates to remember:)


BMC classes: 27th Jan(Sun), 3 Feb(Sun), 10am- 1pm, Blk 6C #01-76

Power Encounter: 1st & 2nd March(Sat-Sun)
*Note: It is going to be a stayover and you will need to pay a certain sum. Details have not been released yet, but you will be notified soon:)

Day of Baptism!(Youth Baptism Service): 15th March(Sat)



YongJin and I will be there with you guys so no worries...you won't have to go there alone!:D During this free time, try to spend some time thinking about what baptism means to you, and if you can, try flipping through the Word to gain some insight!:)

Even Jesus Christ Himself had to get baptised:) Baptism is a very significant event and during the 2 weeks of BMC, you will learn from the Word, the significance of baptism for a Christian. So be prepared to learn ya!:)

And most importantly, prepare yourself spiritually too:) We went through the importance of prayer last week, so do ask God for discernment and wisdom as you step through this new phase of your Christian walk:)

YongJin and I will be praying for you guys too:)





And for the rest who are not getting baptised yet, YOU ARE STILL NOT MISSED OUT IN OUR PRAYERS:) Remember always that God loves you, and Yongjin and I love you too:) I am looking forward to seeing all of you again:)

1) Cell will be as usual in Blk 6C at Rm #01-78, 4pm:) COOS youth ministry has helped us write out NEW cell material specially for you guys and we'll be starting proper this week:) Exciting stuff yooooooo

2) Calling out for volunteers to be webmaster for this blog! 

If you are good at IT(unlike me), and keen on webpage design, this blog is open for your creative juices and crafty handiwork!:D Requests from last cell include a tagboard and better layout(which I agree but like I said I'm a NOOB at stuff like these!) 

So please let YJ or me know if you're interested and we'll give you the password and everything for you to have fun and play ahahahahaahahaha

I just started school yesterday. So far school has been pretty slow for me, because I only have lectures on my first week of school. But(as always), I've been looking forward to going back to school so it was quite exciting for me yesterday. New modules(subjects), new classmates, new teachers....almost like a new school year altogether!

If some of you guys don't know, I am currently a Political Science student in NUS right now. I recently declared my major(Political Science) and this is my first year in uni.

Anyway I came back pretty late last night, and was checking my class list online, and I found out that one of my classmates is a Mediacorp celebrity HAHAHHA. I was quite excited and began texting all my course mates...!! I will tell you more when I see you for cell this Sat;)

Yay our first blog! WOOHOO! Thanks to YongJin for putting it together!:)

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1) Happy Birthday to Eden! Turning 13 on January 8th woooo!

2) Next week cell as usual, Saturdays, 4pm. We have a NEW room(yay) at Blk 6C #1-78. We should also be expecting a newcomer next week- Estella. I'm counting on you guys to make her feel welcome alright! I know you guys are friendly peeps:)

3) Youth Baptism Class

First class begins 27th Jan. The form needs to be handed up by next week, 12th Jan, Saturday, during cell.

I just want to remind you guys that Baptism is something that is very serious and personal. You can try to assess yourself this week by asking these questions...

- What is baptism?

- What does baptism mean to me as a Christian?

- Why do I want to be baptised?

I think it depends on how you want to take that step further with God. If you've assessed yourself and you feel that you're not ready, don't fret! What's most important is that you are honest with yourself, and next time when you ARE ready, you will be better prepared to take on this commitment:) Again, it's not about what your friends are doing, or what your parents say. If you know yourself well, you can be responsible by making a wise decision!:) The cell will definitely respect you for that:)

Likewise for those who wish to be baptised, it's a wonderful step of faith for you!:) I myself waited for a long time before I got baptised only in 2007 because I previously felt I wasn't ready. My journey with God has since been challenging, but definitely good:) So expect God ya!:)

Reminder: We're not monsters just because we're cell leaders ok. Any problem you wanna share we'd be more than eager to listen and help you:)

4) This website is free for all. I will post up most of the announcements up here, so please check this regularly. I need to cut down on the number of SMSes I send to you guys! Hahahaahahaah! I will try to journal or share any thoughts here...you guys can do it too:) This blog is open to anything and everything...from prayer requests, to testimonies, or just plain journal entries, or even good old ranting.

Any suggestions for this blog please share too:) Just one thing- PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE do not spam. It will clog up the whole blogger system and we'll all have a hard time. So yeah START WRITING!:D
